Appointment to ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR

ICADRP is pleased to share that Dr. Nudrat E. Piracha has been appointed as a Delegate of the National Committee to the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Commission on Arbitration and ADR for the term 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2027.

The ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR is a leading global forum comprising over 1,400 experts from more than 100 countries, including lawyers, arbitrators, mediators, in-house counsel, corporate representatives, and academics. Dr. Piracha is among a select group of delegates representing Pakistan in this prestigious body.

This month marks the successful completion of a year-long Advanced Arbitrator Academy programme organised by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).

Spanning multiple international hubs, including China, Bangkok, Japan, and Singapore, the programme provided an intensive and enriching platform for advanced learning in international arbitration. It brought together practitioners from diverse jurisdictions, fostering both professional development and cross-border collaboration.

In this role, she will contribute to the Commission’s work in developing reports, recommendations, and guidance on key practical, procedural, and legal issues in arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. Her participation will also involve collaboration with the Commission’s Steering Committee and international members to help shape the future of global dispute resolution practices.

This appointment reflects a continued commitment to advancing international arbitration standards and strengthening ADR frameworks both in Pakistan and globally.

Dr. Piracha looks forward to actively engaging in the Commission’s initiatives, including upcoming meetings and onboarding sessions, and contributing to meaningful developments in the field of international dispute resolution.
