ICADRP organised Orientation Mediation Training for 60 judges across Pakistan, 2026

The International Centre for Appropriate Dispute Resolution and Prevention (ICADRP) recently reached a significant milestone in judicial reform. On January 23, 2026, ICADRP hosted a comprehensive training session in Islamabad titled “Orientation of Mediation” for 60 Sessions and Senior Civil Judges representing jurisdictions across Pakistan, at the Federal Judicial Academy, Islamabad.

Strengthening the Judicial Role in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and Mediation:

The training was strategically designed to integrate Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), especially mediation, more deeply into the Pakistani legal framework.

The curriculum focused on three core pillars:

1. Foundations of Mediation: Understanding the core principles and psychological mechanisms of successful negotiation.
2. Referral Responsibilities: Training judges on their critical role in identifying cases suitable for mediation and referring such cases to mediation for better assistance and support of the court.
3. Practical Application: Utilising case studies to demonstrate how mediation serves as an efficient and sustainable alternative to traditional litigation.

Through such initiatives, ICADRP continues to assist the courts in their vital work, supporting the judicial process so judges can devote greater attention to cases that require formal adjudication, while mediation serves as an effective and collaborative pathway for appropriate disputes.
