Dr. Nudrat E. Piracha, CEO of the International Centre for Appropriate Dispute Resolution and Prevention (ICADRP), addressed a symposium on “Women in ADR and how ADR can be a better option for females who are reluctant to join litigation.” The event was organised by the Young Mediators Forum.
The symposium focused on the growing role of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) in creating more inclusive professional pathways for women, particularly those who may face structural, social, or professional barriers in traditional litigation practice.
In her address, Dr. Nudrat E. Piracha highlighted the importance of expanding access to ADR as a flexible, collaborative, and empowering field for women practitioners. She emphasised the need for mentorship, skill development, and institutional support to ensure greater female participation in mediation and arbitration.
The discussion brought together emerging and experienced voices in the ADR community, reinforcing the importance of gender inclusion and capacity building in dispute resolution systems.
